Timothée Chalamet may have a hidden alter ego, but fans think they’ve uncovered his mysterious viral persona.

According to CNN Entertainment, the Marty Supreme star is rumored to be the anonymous British rapper EsDeeKid, who shot to fame with the 2024 hit “Bally” featuring Rico Ace and boasts more than 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify. The rapper often performs in a balaclava, keeping their true identity under wraps.

Here’s why fans think Chalamet may be EsDeeKid and how his evasive response when asked about the rapper has only fueled the speculation.

Fans have pointed out similarities between Chalamet and EsDeeKid

According to People, fan speculation on Chalamet’s hidden identity sparked earlier this year, with most noting similarities in their eyes. Others have pointed out a skull-print scarf spotted on both, CNN reported. In August, the Oscar nominee attended a concert by British rapper Fakemink, who appears on EsDeeKid’s February track “LV Sandals.”

Fans have also pointed to clips of Chalamet rapping in high school as “Lil Timmy Tim,” which have gone viral on social media over the years after he revealed his MC past on The Graham Norton Show in 2019.

Chalamet said, ‘All will be revealed in due time’

In an interview on the Heart Breakfast radio show on Thursday, Chalamet was asked about the ongoing rumors, and his response only further proved to fans that the actor is the British rapper.

“Your fans have lost their minds, and they are saying that you are EsDeeKid,” Heart Breakfast host Amanda Holden told him.

Holden’s co-host, Jamie Theakston, then asked, “Is that true?”

Chalamet played it coy and said he had “no comment on that.” But Holden and Theakston weren’t convinced.

“Oh, come on,” Theakston said.

The 29-year-old replied, “I’ve got two words on that.”

After hesitating, the actor assured, “All will be revealed in due time.”
